We are very happy to announce that She Drives Energy will be hosting two (female) empowerment workshop at this year's Student Technical Congress in Clausthal!
Abstract
Women in technical professions often face specific and unique challenges, especially when working and interacting with male colleagues, managers, and supervisors. This interactive workshop is aimed at all students who want to prepare for a career in technical fields, strengthen their assertiveness, and gain a better understanding of gender-specific hurdles. Because we are all part of the solution in shaping a more inclusive and collaborative future!
Through practical exercises, role-playing, and sharing experiences, we will developed strategies to act confidently and authentically in mixed teams.
The workshop is for anyone who wants to develop their skills and take the next step towards professional self-assertion and empowerment.
About the Speaker
Sabine Bergmeier is a woman who has asserted herself in male-dominated industries with impressive assertiveness and professionalism. For many years, she worked in technically demanding environments, such as a pipeline inspection company and a drilling company - areas that are traditionally dominated by men. Here, she was often confronted with male power dynamics, especially from older, experienced managers. But instead of letting this discourage her, Sabine developed techniques over time to act confidently and as an equal. She knows how important it is to make yourself heard without sacrificing your own authenticity. Sabine sees such situations as small but significant affirmations of what is possible when women assert themselves in traditionally male-dominated fields.
A particular highlight of her career is her role as a skipper. As the boss of a ship, in another typically male domain, she always experiences surprise and recognition when she confidently and precisely docks a ship. This is often the moment when she receives the applause she deserves - with a twinkle in her eye.
Sabine Bergmeier is now also active as a coach, where she helps women to discover their inner “superwoman” and to assert themselves decisively in technical professions. She is a passionate advocate of female empowerment and shows women how to leverage their strengths in a targeted manner, master challenges, assert themselves confidently in male-dominated environments, and advance their careers.
The workshops are open to all STC attendees!
