DGMK-Project Occupational Safety

DGMK Accident Statistics of the Mineral Oil Industry

Duration
1972 ff.
Project Accompaniment
DGMK Technical Committee for Occupational Safety
Reason and Goal

Since the early 1970s, the DGMK has kept annual accident statistics for the refinery sector. The aim of the statistics is to compare accident figures nationally and internationally, as well as with other industries. Since the end of the 1990s, data have also been collected for the partner companies used for technical services.

Summary

Data retrieval at refinery sites will follow OSHA 300. Trends in commuting accidents will also be examined and benchmarking will be documented for national and international comparison.

Status

The statistics were updated: For the year 2022, the accident frequency (accidents with lost time ≥ 1 working day) for own employees is 1.4 and 1.5 for partner companies. In addition to the statistics, an in-depth evaluation is carried out to discuss main accident categories with the members and to exchange and derive suitable measures.
