We cordially invite you to our next WebSeminar "BVEG/DGMK Guideline "Drilling risk management for deep geothermal projects" with André El-Alfy.
Geothermal Energy
DGMK WebSeminar: BVEG/DGMK Guideline "Drilling risk management for deep geothermal projects"
Description of the session
The guide is aimed at all institutions and individuals involved in deep geothermal energy. These include, for example, planners, project developers, investors, insurers, supervisory or approval authorities.
The guide introduces the processes involved in the drilling and testing phase of a deep geothermal project, offers a standardized and generally applicable risk management methodology and presents important tools for risk analysis. These include the risk matrix, the Bow-tie diagram, the SWOT analysis and the risk register. In addition, common insurance policies during the drilling and testing phase are presented and related to structured risk management.
The public exhibition runs until May 19. Participation procedure (gray print). Join our web seminar on 11.4.2025 from 11-12 a.m. to find out more and join in the discussion.
André El-Alfy - one of the authors of the guide - will present the key points and ideas behind it and answer questions. Also take the opportunity on May 7 at the DGMK/ÖGEW Spring Conference to get into conversation in person during the session.

Speaker
André El-Alfy holds a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Clausthal University of Technology. He began his career with the applied side of the drilling industry, gaining initial experience as a drilling supervisor and drilling engineer in the field. He quickly progressed to become a planning engineer, senior project engineer and finally project and drilling manager. With almost 25 years of experience in drilling technology and project management, he is now project manager at GeoEnergie Suisse for one of the most interesting geothermal projects in Europe: the Haute Sorne EGS project in the canton of Jura.
