Literature review on design, calculation, construction and tests of weldolets on pipelines

Weldolets are positioned on many mineral oil pipelines. The following questions had to be clarified: do the existing connecting pieces stand up to the varying stresses; which service life can be expected; and are there any additional measures or tests to be initiated for a safe operation of mineral oil pipelines.

The well-proven instructions of relevant regulations were compared and assessed. With their help, pipe-connections were recalculated by means of practical 'examples, and suggestions were made for an exchange of weldolets, if necessary.
