DGMK-Project Process Safety
Key Performance Indicators for the Assessment and Improvement of Process and Plant Safety
Due to the partly high hazard potential of plants for mineral oil processing, process and plant safety is an important task of the operators. In order to meet this responsibility, systems are used to record characteristic values (key performance indicators) for the evaluation of process safety. Based on this data, performance is recorded and evaluated and trend analyses are carried out with the aim of continuously improving process and plant safety.
Since 2011, selected KPIs have been queried as parameters for the evaluation of process safety in accordance with API RP 754 at the refinery sites in order to systematically collect and evaluate these safety-related parameters.
The DGMK requests the data annually. The evaluation and discussion takes place in the DGMK technical committee Process Safety. Since the reporting year 2013, an in-depth evaluation of the PSE cause categorisation has been carried out in order to exchange and, if necessary, derive measures.
