On 1 March 2021, the Electro-impulse method for the workover of a scale-narrowed borehole (EVA)) started. The EVA project is composed of 3 phases. In the first phase of the project, the feasibility of an EIV system for scale removal is to be demonstrated and a functional laboratory prototype developed. This prototype shall be adapted to the conditions of a well down to 5000 m depth.
In the second phase of the project, the laboratory prototype that has already been created will be further developed into a field prototype that is suitable for practical use and can then be used in a real borehole. The most important aspects in this development will be the connectivity to existing equipment, the permanent temperature suitability, the use in deflected boreholes and the stability against the occurring mechanical loads.
