As a member of the AiF, DGMK is entitled to apply for IGF research funding with its own projects. In 2021, the DGMK Processing and Application Department has acquired grants from the BMWi amounting to more than 1.6 million euros as part of the IGF competition.

The research projects are funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection via the AiF as part of the program for the promotion of joint industrial research (IGF) on the basis of a resolution of the German Bundestag.
