Abstract
Hydrogen is seen in many places as an important energy carrier of the future. Its use produces no greenhouse gas emissions. It is essential for industrial applications and in particular enables greenhouse gas reductions in some important industrial processes, such as iron smelting. It is also storable and can be generated from renewable surplus electricity.
The web seminar will present the various options for hydrogen production. Green, blue, turquoise and bio-hydrogen will be considered. The focus is on blue hydrogen from natural gas, in which the carbon dioxide produced is separated during generation and injected in the long term.
The costs and remaining GHG emissions expected for each generation pathway are presented in a comparative manner.
