Carbon Capture (Utilization) and Storage (CC(U)S)

Scientific study on the national and international technical status of the storage and pipeline transportation of CO2

Executive Summary
This report provides a comprehensive overview of the current national and international state of the art in geological CO2-storage and CO2-transportation. In particular, the central role of these processes within the CCS process chain is emphasized. CCS is identified as a key technology on the path to global climate neutrality. The report highlights the processes of CO2-The report assesses the current implementation status in Germany and draws on internationally proven methods as a basis for recommendations for the expansion of CCS in Germany.

Abstract
This report provides a comprehensive review of the national and international state-of-the-art in geological CO2 storage and transport, emphasizing its critical role within the CCS process chain. Carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) is identified as a key technology in the global transition to carbon neutrality. The report highlights on transport and geological storage processes of CO2evaluates Germany's current readiness, and draws on international best practices to recommend next steps for enabling CCS operations in Germany.
