Various systems for on-line determination of the hydrocarbon condensation temperature (KWST dew point) are available on the market. The KWST dew point is an important parameter for use in gas processing and to ensure that the specifications of the natural gas to be fed into the natural gas grid are met. There are various systems on the market for on-line determination of the KWST dew point. However, there are no systematic investigations of the behaviour of the KWST dew point analysers with respect to impurities contained in the gas stream such as water and glycol, during regeneration of the systems after KWST precipitation and with respect to their long-term behaviour.
The aim of the project is a qualitative classification of the KWST dew point analyzers available on the market.
The project for the evaluation of KWST dew point measuring instruments is divided into 3 parts. The first part consists of a thorough literature research. The second part consists of a laboratory investigation of the behaviour of KWST dew point measuring instruments in relation to the amount of condensed hydrocarbon and to the targeted addition of impurities (water, glycol) and also their ability to regenerate. In the third and last step, the long-term behaviour over several months of the measuring instruments of a feed-in point into the natural gas network, which have so far been classified as suitable, will be investigated by a project partner.
Project finished. The final report will not be published.
