Last Thursday, during the DGMK's Annual General Meeting, the Carl-Zerbe Prize was awarded to Dr. Thomas Seidensticker. DGMK board member Jens Müller-Belau gave a rousing eulogy and then presented the prize winner with the certificate for his outstanding work in the field of functionalization and transformation of biogenic basic materials by means of homogeneous catalysis and prize money of 5,000 euros.
Dr. Seidensticker then gave a lecture on the topic 'Homogeneously Catalyzed Functionalization of Renewables: Rediscovery'. He convinced the audience with his excellent expert knowledge and his charming ease in presenting complex issues.
DGMK Managing Director Gesa Netzeband was also enthusiastic: "We are very pleased to add Thomas Seidensticker to the ranks of Carl Zerbe Award winners!"
