Carl-Zerbe Prize for Jun.-Prof. Dr. Moritz Wolf from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

This year's Carl Zerbe Prize for young scientists has been announced: Jun. Prof. Dr. Moritz Wolf has been nominated for the award by the DGMK board.

The main research interests of Jun. Prof. Dr.-lng. Moritz Wolf are the development of catalysts and processes for the storage of renewable energies in the form of _chemical energy carriers and the production of intermediates from synthesis gas (C02/CO and H2).

During and after his PhD at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, Mr. Wolf worked very fundamentally on the mode of action and stability of metal-support clusters as catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.

For his dissertation, Mr. Wolf was nominated for the "Best PhD Thesis Award" of the European Federation of Catalysis Societies (EFCATS).

After his return to Germany, Mr. Wolf started as a postdoctoral researcher at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg. For a little more than a year, he has been working at KIT, where he bundles a large part of his previous research topics in an independent research group.

The award, which is endowed with 5,000 euros, will be presented at the DGMK/ÖGEW/SCI conference "C1 Building Blocks for Future Chemistry" on October 12, 2023.
