Tilman Bechthold, Chair of the DGMK Division on Carbon Carrier Conversion, delivered the laudatory address and praised the award recipient’s outstanding scientific work in the fields of catalysis, chemical reaction engineering, and sustainable carbon carriers and hydrogen technologies. Dr. Gesa Netzeband also congratulated Mr. Schühle on his outstanding work. Last week, he presented his work in a lecture at the DGMK/ÖGEW/SCI Conference in Essen before.
Since May 2026, Patrick Schühle has been serving in a part-time capacity as head of the Department of Reaction Engineering at the Institute for a Sustainable Hydrogen Economy (IHE) at Forschungszentrum Jülich. His research focuses on chemical hydrogen storage and alternative energy carriers, particularly C1 compounds and their derivatives, such as dimethyl ether (DME), formic acid, and methanol.
In addition, since 2021, he has led a research group in the field of „Catalytic Systems for Chemical Energy Storage“ at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, where he also earned his Ph.D. with honors in 2021 for his work on the hydrogenation of CO₂ to methanol.
We congratulate Dr. Patrick Schühle and wish him continued success in the future.
