The DGMK awards the Georg Hunaeus Prize to talented scientists for outstanding application-oriented research work in the fields of: Exploration, production and storage of hydrocarbons and hydrogen, deep drilling technology and geothermal energy.
The prize is worth 5,000 euros and will be awarded during the DGMK Spring Conference in 2027; as part of this event, the laureate will also present their work as the Georg Hunaeus Lecture. The lecture will be published in the journal EEK TECHNOLOGY & TRANSFORMATION OF FOSSIL AND GREEN ENERGY SOURCES, the organ of the DGMK.
