In 2025, the BVEG, in collaboration with the DGMK, published the guidelines for deep geothermal drilling. This comprehensive overview of the processes involved in the drilling and testing phases enhances both the understanding of and the investment potential for deep geothermal projects in Germany. We will examine risk management tools that can serve as a benchmark for other countries seeking to advance the maturity of their deep geothermal markets.
