The certification system is divided into two industrial sectors (Scopes):
- Scope I - Contractors/Manufacturing Industries (SCC)
- Scope II - Personnel Service Provider (SCP)
Scope I - Contractors/Manufacturing Industries (SCC)
The SCC certification distinguishes between 3 possible certificates:
- SCC* = Restricted Certificate
- SCC** = Unrestricted Certificate
- SCCP = Unrestricted Certificate for the Petrochemical Industry

SCC* = Restricted Certificate
This restricted certificate assesses SHE management activities directly at the workplace. It is intended for small companies with an average of ≤ 35 employees per calendar year (including apprentices, trainees and temporary workers) throughout the company that do not use subcontractors (contract for work) for technical services.
Identification of mandatory questions
The following conditions must be met for the certificate to be issued:
- (a) Mandatory Questions
The 27 mandatory questions identified in the SCC checklist (see document 003) must be fulfilled to 100 %.
SCC* = Unrestricted Certificate
This unrestricted certificate evaluates the SHE management activities both directly at the workplace and the company's SHE management system. It is intended for companies with an average of more than 35 employees per calendar year (including trainees, interns and temporary workers) throughout the company.

Identification of the supplementary questions
The following conditions must be met for the certificate to be issued:
- (a) Mandatory Questions
The 40 mandatory questions identified in the SCC checklist (see document 003) must be fulfilled to 100 %.
- (b) Supplementary Questions
In addition to the mandatory questions, supplementary questions (see identification complement) must be answered. At least 5 of the possible 9 supplementary questions must be answered positively.
SCCP = Unrestricted Certificate for the Petrochemical Industry
In addition to the assessment criteria listed under SCC**, it is also expected to meet specific requirements in the petrochemical industry.
Companies with up to 35 employees who use subcontractors (work contract) for technical services require the SCC** or SCCP certificate.

The following conditions must be met for the certificate to be issued:
- (a) Mandatory Questions
The 44 mandatory questions identified in the SCC checklist (see document 003) must be fulfilled to 100 %.
- (b) Supplementary Questions
In addition to the mandatory questions, supplementary questions (see marking Supplement ) must be answered. At least 3 of the possible 5 supplementary questions must be answered positively.
Companies with up to 35 employees who use subcontractors (work contract) for technical services require the SCC** or SCCP certificate.
Scope II - Personnel Service Provider (SCP)
With SCP certification, there is only one certificate:
SCP = Certificate for Personnel Service Providers
The SCP certification can only be obtained by personnel service providers who have implemented a SHE management system.

The following conditions must be met in order to receive the certificate:
- (a) Mandatory Questions
The 29 mandatory questions marked in the SCP checklist (see document 023) must be fulfilled to 100 %.
- (b) Supplementary Questions
In addition to the mandatory questions, supplementary questions (see marking Supplement) must be answered. At least 3 of the possible 6 supplementary questions must be answered positively.
