In Germany, the Ruhr area is the epitome of coal mining and heavy industry, but it also increasingly stands for innovation, research and development in technology parks and universities.
The regional group Ruhr tries to balance past and future and takes up topics that stand for the core competences of the local industry and research but also for the change and future prospects of the region. This includes coal research as well as the operation of large petrochemical plants and concepts for the energy supply of the future.
