Galvanic Corrosion under Sweet Gas Conditions in the Production and Transport of Crude Oil and Natural Gas
The aim of the project was to establish a temperature-dependent practical galvanic series for the conditions of CO2 corrosion with materials as they are usually used in the production and transport of crude oil and natural gas. By measuring the corrosion potentials of these materials in model media, it should be easier to predict their corrosion behavior and, if necessary, the risk of corrosion during galvanic element formation. The effective corrosion risk can be reliably estimated from the element currents that occur with relevant metal pairings and taken into account when selecting materials.
