Facies architecture of fossil arid-clastic depositional environments as Rotliegend reservoir analogues - literature study.

Within the framework of this DGMK research project, a literature study was carried out which presents the facies architecture of fossil arid-clastic sediments and examines their suitability as Rotliegend reservoir analogues. This document presents various possible analogues and case studies, with three sequences appearing to be particularly suitable. Criteria were developed to qualify relevant control factors to allow comparison of different arid-clastic sedimentary environments. The range of presentation of possible analogues covers the whole spectrum from structural scale to genetic units and sheds light on the respective controlling factors of deposition. The actual documentation is preceded by a comprehensive introduction, which introduces the topic and illustrates correlations between primary sedimentary structure and petrophysical properties.
