The DGMK regional group of Hanover invited to an event at Siemens in Laatzen on August 20th under the motto "digitalisation in the oil and gas industry under consideration of the opportunities and risks". About 40 participants met for a professional exchange and to experience the three invited lectures.

  • Anton Lettner from the Drilling Digitalization Laboratory of the University of Leoben reported on strategies for the introduction of digital technologies into drilling technology.
  • The presentation by Mike Kesselmeier, Siemens, focused on the application of cloud-based IOT technology and the opportunities for the oil and gas industry.
  • Professor Andreas Rausch, holder of the chair for Software Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Clausthal, pointed out possibilities that lie in the analysis of even supposedly inferior data sets and called for looking beyond one's own nose and looking for possible uses of the collected data beyond one's own industry.
