The use of hydrogen as a future energy carrier is a core element of the European energy transition. H2 storage is an essential component of the hydrogen strategy when it comes to harmonising fluctuating energy generation with energy demand. In addition to the energetic use of hydrogen, underground storage offers innovative possibilities for a sustainable carbon cycle economy, such as methanation.
The DGMK/BVEG 'H2-Underground' Lecture will focus on current technical research and applications in practice.
