Carl-Engler-Medal<\/h2>\n

Carl Engler is regarded as one of the founders of the science of mineral oil. In his memory, the German Society for Mineral Oil Research has endowed the Carl Engler Medal. 1 The DGMK awards the Carl-Engler-Medal for merits of lasting importance in the fields of activity of the society.<\/p>\n

2. the medal is awarded at unspecified intervals and in principle only once a year. It shall be awarded only exceptionally twice in one year if two persons share the same merit in the same way.<\/p>\n

3. a certificate will be issued for the award of the medal.<\/p>\n

4 The medal and the award certificate will be presented to the recipient by the board of directors during a public event of the DGMK.<\/p>\n

5. persons entitled to propose for the award of the medal are holders of the Carl-Engler-Medal and members of a committee of the Scientific Advisory Board of the DGMK appointed for this purpose by the Executive Board.<\/p>\n

Carl-Zerbe-Award<\/h2>\n

Carl Zerbe recognized early on the necessity and value of the exchange of information and experience, and the cooperation between specialist colleagues. He was therefore one of the committed co-founders of the DGMK (1947), the Technical Committee for Petroleum and Fuel Standardisation (1949), the Coordination Committee for Research Work of the DGMK (1958), and had a decisive influence on the work of all three organisations. The result of the joint work resulted in his handbook \"Mineral Oils and Related Products\", which was published in 1952 and quickly became a standard work.<\/p>\n

In 1964 he was awarded the Carl-Engler-Medal, and in 1966 he was appointed honorary member of our society.<\/p>\n

In 1973, during his lifetime, the DGMK endowed the Carl Zerbe Prize for the promotion of young scientists. Since 1989, the prize has been awarded as the DGMK Promotion Prize for Young Scientists with the addition \"Carl Zerbe Prize\". Since then, the former Carl-Zerbe-Preis of the DGMK and the former DVGI-F\u00f6rderpreis have been continued with the DGMK-F\u00f6rderpreis for young scientists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

1 The DGMK awards the DGMK Prize for Young Scientists for outstanding scientific work by younger scientists (\u00a7 18 para. 4 of the statutes).<\/p>\n

In the case of awards for work in the fields of processing and application of carbon carriers, such as their conversion (gasification, liquefaction, pyrolysis, synthesis, hydrogenation and similar processes) of the resulting products, the sponsorship award is given the suffix: \"Carl Zerbe Award\".<\/p>\n

The awardees are obliged to report on their work during a DGMK event Carl-Zerbe-Vortrag). The lectures will be published in the organ of the DGMK.<\/p>\n

2. The DGMK Advancement Award for Young Scientists is awarded at unspecified intervals, at most twice a year.<\/p>\n

3. The prize consists of a certificate and an amount of money, which is determined by the board of directors.<\/p>\n

4. The prize is presented by a member of the board during a conference or general meeting of the DGMK or its departments.<\/p>\n

Georg-Hunaeus-Prize<\/h2>\n

(before 1989 DVGI promotion prize)<\/h3>\n

In 1858, Georg Hunaeus had the first deep drill sunk on German territory in Wietze, in what is now Lower Saxony, and struck oil. Although it would take several years before the \"oil fever\" spread in Wietze, the Hunaeus-well marked the beginning of industrial oil production; not only for Wietze, but for the entire Braunschweig-Gifhorn-Celle region.<\/p>\n

Because of the great importance of this pioneering work, the DGMK has named its sponsorship award for young upstream researchers after Georg Hunaeus.<\/p>\n

Since 1989, the prize has been awarded as the DGMK Promotion Prize for Young Scientists with the addition \"Georg Hunaeus Prize\".
