In view of the switch from fossil to renewable energy generation, questions about the technological implementation of this change process are becoming increasingly relevant. Which forms of energy production, generation and use will prevail in North Rhine-Westphalia in the future? What preconditions must be created for this? And how can this process be implemented under sustainable and climate-friendly conditions?
These are the questions addressed by the plenary discussion on "Energy systems from and for NRW". Together with the EnergyAgency.NRW and with the Post-Mining Research Centre (FZN) of the Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences, different energy systems will be presented and their advantages and disadvantages discussed as part of a plenary discussion.
In addition to an introductory presentation on the topic, the alternative energy systems hydrogen, geothermal energy and modern fuels will be presented in four keynote lectures. Afterwards, all participants are invited to discuss the possibilities and limits of future technologies for energy production.
